About LILA

LILA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of sacred music, dance, and cultural traditions around the world. Through our documentary series, immersive cultural tours, community gatherings, and educational initiatives, we bridge the ancient with the modern—offering transformative experiences that honor the depth and beauty of spiritual and artistic lineages.

As a 501(c)(3), we are seeking funding to expand our impact, support artists and tradition bearers, develop educational programs, and continue documenting endangered cultural traditions.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Grant Writer from within the LILA community to help us secure funding from U.S.-based foundations, cultural institutions, and arts organizations. The ideal candidate understands nonprofit fundraising and has experience with grants related to cultural preservation, traditional arts, music, and community programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with LILA’s mission and programming.

  • Write compelling grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry.

  • Develop and maintain a grant calendar, tracking deadlines and submission requirements.

  • Work closely with LILA’s team to gather necessary documentation, financials, and program details for proposals.

  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, reporting requirements, and funding stipulations.

  • Assist in developing a long-term grant strategy to support LILA’s sustainability and growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, particularly for nonprofit arts, culture, and music organizations.

  • Strong understanding of U.S.-based foundations, arts funding, cultural preservation grants, and nonprofit fundraising strategies.

  • Ability to translate LILA’s mission and work into compelling narratives for funders.

  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.

  • Familiarity with 501(c)(3) nonprofit operations and compliance.

  • A deep connection to or appreciation for sacred music, traditional arts, and cultural preservation (strongly preferred).

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a mission-driven community dedicated to preserving sacred arts and cultural traditions.

  • Work with a team that values authenticity, creativity, and deep respect for global spiritual traditions.

  • Help sustain and expand initiatives that uplift artists, educators, and cultural practitioners.

If you’re interested in this role and have experience with nonprofit grant writing, we’d love to hear from you!
